Overview

TumbleBook Cloud Jr. is an online collection of eBooks and read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, graphic novels, educational videos, and audio books! This database is a great option for adventurous young readers who wish to read beyond the picture book collection in the TumbleBook Library. Reading chapter books online has never been easier. TumbleBookCloud Jr. is simple to use and can be used on any computer or mobile device thanks to Cloud Computing.

Navigation

  • Home page displays a graphical interface which allows users to browse by the resource types listed above in Content & Features.
  • Search drop-down menu allows users to search by Keyword (default), Title, Author, Publisher, Reading Level, Books with Videos, or Common Core. Search is limited to 20 characters.
    • Search results can be Viewed by Cover or Detail, and Sorted by Title (default), Newest, Author, or Reading Level, in Ascending or Descending order. An alphabetical index is also displayed.
    • Click on a cover or on the Read Online/View Online button to access a title.    
  • Nav Bar:
    • Index is a complete list of titles in the collection which displays the Title, Author, and  resource Type. Use the "Sort by" drop down in the top right hand corner to sort by these fields. The icons on the left hand side show if the title has an Audio component or Supplementary Materials like quizzes or lesson plans. 
    • My Favorites displays title(s) which you have added to your Favorites section by clicking the Add to Favorites button below a book title.  This feature is cookied onto individual computers. 
    • My Cloud allows users to create a secondary login so you can retrieve your Favorites from any computer. Your email address is only used in order to facilitate password retrieval in case you lose or forget your password. TumbleBooks does not share or sell those email addresses and will not send you any unsolicited emails. 
    • Common Core Portal provides a portal where teachers can search for content by grade level Common Core State Standards.  
  • Click on a cover or click Read Online or View Online to access a resource. 
  • Switch to TumbleBook Library via a link at the bottom of the Homepage.
     

Learning Supports & Tools

  • Read-Along format combines the flexibility of an ebook with full-length professional narration and sentence-by-sentence highlighting so kids can follow along. 
  • Readers have the freedom to adjust the text size, line width and spacing, font style and color, and background color of eBooks. This level of customization adds increases accessibility for all readers. 
  • Readers can interact with the text by highlighting and adding notes to eBooks.
  • Quiz provides a fun, flash-animated multiple choice quiz that each student can take right online after reading a book in order to test reading comprehension.  
  •  Lexiles/Reading Levels: 
    • Search drop-down menu allows users to search for content by Reading Level (Lexile or Grade Level)
